Writing wedding vows and toasts can sometimes be a bit tricky. It’s like you know everything and love the person you’re writing them about deeply, however when it comes time to write things down your mind goes blank! Or maybe you know everything you want to say, but don’t know how to narrow it all down. Regardless of where you stand, I’m sharing some tips and tricks to hopefully help make this a little easier for you!
Tell the story.
There’s a reason you’re saying these vows to this person. There’s obviously history and times you’ve shared. Use this to tell the story of how you got to this moment.
Share the why.
Why is this person is your person? Why are you choosing forever to be together? What is it about them that makes them and your love together so special?
What do you promise?
The whole point of writing vows is explaining your promises to one another. What do you vow? To be the best wife? To support his dreams? To be his forever Netflix buddy? You can be as romantic or as cute and funny as you want!
Show your personality.
Don’t force yourself to be funny if you’re more of a romantic person. Be natural in your approach, but don’t be afraid to let your personality shine!
Make them personal, but not too personal!
Share why you love them and fun memories you’ve shared, but don’t share anything that they may be embarrassed by. There’s funny then there’s humiliating. If it’s borderline going to make them feel uncomfortable, it’s best to leave it out!
With these five tips and tricks, I hope writing your vows and toasts just became a little easier. What else would you add?! Share with us on Instagram!
