Congratulations! The moment you’ve been waiting for has finally happened — you’re engaged! While I’m sure you’re overwhelmed with joy, I’m sure you’re also getting anxious about the whole wedding planning process and what to do next. Today I’m sharing some wedding planning advice with some tips and tricks to help you out!
Once you announce your engagement, so much love and excitement from friends and family will surround you. While it’s the BEST feeling, take some time to enjoy the moment with just the two of you. It’s a special time for the both of you, so take in every second of it!
Chances are your family and maybe even some of your friends already know about this secret, which means they’re more than likely awaiting a call! The last place you want those you’re closest with finding out about your engagement, is on social media. So before you hit that post button, make sure you call all your loved ones first!
While it may be hard to part with your ring right away, it’s better to get it sized early on than to risk losing it, right?! And just in case anything were to happen, have insurance will end up saving you big time!
Picking a month or even a season helps start the wedding planning process. It gets you thinking about colors for the time of year, venue possibilities for an indoor or outdoor wedding, flowers that may be in season, and so much more! This can be a challenge, however it’s an essential step in making decisions for the big day!
Although this isn’t the most exciting thing, setting a budget from the start is an important step! By setting a budget you’ll be able to allocate how much you would want to spend on your florals, venue, catering, dress, how many guests, and so on. This may change slightly throughout as you get further into planning, but having this as a guideline will help you out.
This is the part that most brides-to-be enjoy! Utilize Pinterest, your favorite wedding blogs, Instagram, some of your favorite wedding vendors you’ve been following, etc. to get an idea of what cohesive style you’re going for and what aesthetics you like. By doing this, it will help you determine what kind aesthetic, colors, and style you’re going for, which allows you to then look for vendors with this style
By putting together a guest list, this will allow you to search for venues that can accommodate the number of guests you have, as well as cost to see if you are within your budget.
At first this can seem like a daunting task, however if you have an idea of your aesthetic, budget, location, etc. that can help narrow your search. When visiting these venues, be sure to ask questions! Can this venue accommodate the number of guests you’re planning to invite? Do they fit within your ideal budget? Do they have the date you’d have in mind? Is this the aesthetic you picture for your wedding day? These are all questions to ask!
Start thinking about your dream wedding team that can help bring your vision your life!
Whether you need help with the logistics, design, or both, a wedding planner will help! Hiring a wedding planner can help put your mind at ease and insure that your day goes exactly as you dreamed it would!
