It may be a dreaded topic that couples don’t want to think about, but having a rain plain for your wedding day is very important. If any part of your ceremony or reception is outdoor or can be effected by the weather, read my thoughts on having a backup plan.
Why a rain plan is important.
By having a rain plan, if mother nature decides to change, you won’t be as stressed knowing you have it all taken care of already. You’ll have everything in order to know how to protect your decor, make guests have an enjoyable time, as well as know that you will be able to be confident and enjoy the day too!
Process for establishing a rain plan.
My process for establishing a rain plan starts by having clients talk about it at the signing. Next, we talk about our options when doing the venue walk through in the event we would need to put a rain plan into effect. Most venues that have experience with this, will be able to offer advice and tell you exactly how past couples handled the weather in the past. So don’t be afraid to ask questions.
It’s hard to know what the weather will be like so far out, which is why it’s important to be in communication with your wedding planner and event venue the week before. It’s likely you’ll have a better idea what the weather will be like. However, you don’t need to make a final decision until the day before or the morning of (depending on your timeline).
