Tell us a bit about your background/career path.
I have been doing hair and makeup for 8 years. Since I was little I always loved hair and makeup. As I got older I realized I could do this for a living and have never looked back. I got my cosmetology license at Regency Beauty and went off to train at Toni and Guy which has helped me understand the science behind hair and skin. As we started to get busier we then grew to the team we have now. We all share the same passion for our clients and our craft.
Can you provide an overview of what to expect during the selection process?
As you are looking for a team that fits your needs make sure to schedule a phone call so you can ask any questions you may have. If you feel like you have a good idea of what you are looking for you can then move forward to scheduling your trial.
What is the timeline for this process?
After you inquire with us and we determine that we are available for your big day we then send over a service form. This will give us more details about your wedding day. Then, we will get you scheduled for your trial if that is something you are wanting. From there we will create a quote and contract for you to take a look at. After you have accepted your quote and submitted your deposit we will create your detailed timeline for your big day.
Do you have a team?
Yes, we do have a team to accommodate large bridal parties. Our team is made up of 8 hair and/or makeup artist that I have specifically picked to be party of the TOUSLED team.
Are trials necessary?
No, trials are not totally necessary. But if you are feeling uneasy about hair or makeup I would go ahead and do a trial. You do not have to do both hair and makeup if you don’t want to.
Should the bride come prepared with anything the day of or do anything special the night before?
Before the trial I would make sure to bring any hair accessories you will be using including clips, veil, flower clip, flower crown etc. If there is a specific makeup product you love and would like us to use feel free to bring that as well. Having day old hair is always what we prefer if you are comfortable with that.
Before the wedding day make sure you have any hair accessories all together. If you will be getting your hair done at a blowout bar for your rehearsal make sure to advice them to not put product on the top of your hair as that will cause your hair to get very greasy.
What are a few tips/tricks that are overlooked?
If a bride is not a fan of eyeliner, a black lash glue will add just enough depth.
A nude liner on your lower waterline will create the illusion of a wider eye with more of a natural finish then a traditional white eyeliner.
For some natural volume without having to tease a great amount a micro-crimper on your roots will do just that
One lash does not fit all! Depending on your eye shape will help determine what kind of lash should be used.
Any advice you can give to help get a better understanding?
Your stylist will be with you for the beginning of your best day ever and we want you to feel like you can count on us. Prior to your big day make sure to ask any questions or concerns with your team even if its the day before. You have the final say before your team leaves the venue. If there is something you are not 100% loving we want to know so we can change what is needed.
You deserve to look and feel amazing on your wedding day. And I can promise Andrea and the Tousled team delivers! Be sure to check them out!
