How did you meet?
My cousin introduced us. I was visiting Austin where my cousin lived. She wanted me to move to Austin, so one night when we went out, she invited all of her and her now husband’s eligible bachelor friends. Cesar was one of those men. We hit it off and a week later after my visit, Cesar flew me back out to Austin to have our first date.
How did you know it was meant to be? How did he propose?
Cesar proposed while we were on vacation in New York during the Christmas season. It was our second day there. We went to St. Patrick’s Cathedral and light a candle for our future. Then we walked over to the Lotte Palace Hotel to look at their beautiful christmas tree set up in the plaza. We were walking hand in hand when Cesar turned to me and got down on one knee.
What are a few things you love about each other?
What I love about Cesar is how loving and kind he is. He is a generous and selfless man to anyone and everyone. I love how he takes care of me and our dog Harvey. I also love how he has helped me grow throughout the years.
What I love about Shelby – that she is the boss of the house and that she takes care of me and Harvey. I love that she loves to plan and find things for us to do. She loves to cook and bake for me. I love that she is low maintenance and easy to talk to. She is my best friend. I love that she challenges me to grow spiritually.
What is your favorite thing to do together?
Cesar and I love to cook together, go on walks with our dog, Harvey. We love going to see live music and trying new restaurants. We also love traveling together!
How did you come up with your wedding theme or color scheme?
We don’t have a color scheme but we wanted a simple, elegant, romantic wedding. The venue is our biggest decoration. It doesn’t need much so we just wanted to enhance it by adding lots of candles and flowers.
Where are you going on your honeymoon?
We both wanted to go to Europe for our honeymoon but with our wedding being at the end of the year, we don’t have many vacation days left. So we decided to do that next year and go to Cabo, Mexico for a little “mini-moon.”
