If you’re a Dallas Fort-Worth bride looking for “a one-of-a-kind alterations experience, unlike anywhere else,” then you’re going to love today’s post. Having grown up in a family where bridal alterations were a passion, Rylee of Altered for the Altar grew into the niche. Now, her business is growing and the future is theirs for the taking! Your wedding dress is the most important dress you’ll wear. It’s important to trust the team you choose and I’m hear to say you’re in good hands with this team! Learn more about Rylee and Altered for the Altar in the interview below.
Tell us a bit about your background/career path.
My mom and business partner, Ruth, has been sewing since she was a kid. Before I was born she started getting into Bridal. She quickly found it to be both a passion and a niche. I subsequently have always grown up around alterations, specifically bridal. Altered for the Altar has become bigger and better than we ever dreamed. We cannot wait to see what the future has in store!
Can you provide an overview of what to expect during the selection process?
We hope that during our process you EXPERIENCE the very best bridal treatment. From start to finish we have worked hard to make sure that this process is easy and painless. Professionalism and top notch alterations was not enough for us, we want you to ENJOY the process too!
What is the timeline for this process?
General Process is usually 6-8 weeks. This includes on average 3 appointments during that time. Now that being said, we are notorious for being able to work in tight timelines and fulfill rush orders.
Do you have a team?
We do indeed have a fabulous team! Total there are 12 of us!
What are a few tips/tricks that are overlooked?
Honestly under garments! However we saw a need for this about a year ago so we have searched and searched and now carry a variety in the store. We did not want to create another “to-do” item. Now we are able to help assist with what you should wear underneath, size for corsets, and show you the new and best products for underneath your gown. Foundations are KEY to ensuring the PERFECT fit!
And advice you can give to help get a better understanding?
The best advice I can give to a bride before alterations is that it is a process. That being said with alterations you also always have options. Speak up if you are concerned/ don’t like something. We almost always can remedy the situation and provide alternatives for you, but we can’t fix what we don’t know!
Ruth and Rylee are such a dynamic (mother/daughter) duo! Having them on your vendor team will definitely ensure you’re altered (perfectly!) for the altar!
