Before the big day come the wedding rehearsal. Often times, brides have questions about their rehearsal and the rehearsal timing. The importance of staying on schedule for your rehearsal is just as significant as the day of. Keep reading to see my planning tips and learn why your rehearsal timing is so important.
Who Should Be There?
One main thing to realize is that not everyone has to be present at the rehearsal. The people that should be there are the members of the bridal party, parents, and anyone partaking in your ceremony. This is a chance for everyone to learn their responsibilities so they know exactly what to do the day of.
Importance of Staying On Schedule & Tips to Stay on Time
We are starting on time and can’t be waiting for your sister who may be 15 minutes late. Starting late reflects poorly on the bride and the planner, people have been so considerate to take time off of work and it should be respected. For those that do need to be at the rehearsal, make sure they have all the details ahead of time so that they can plan ahead and ask questions if needed. Even send out a text or email the day before to be sure there’s no confusion.
Wedding rehearsals can also cost money. Most venues use the one hour of rehearsal time as part of your event hours and if you don’t use it, it can be added to your actual event so by waiting, you are taking time away from the actual event.
Running late not only can cost you money, but it can set you back for the rest of the evening and make you late to plans scheduled after, such as the rehearsal dinner. And who wants to be late for that?! If you’re nervous that there are members who may run behind, tell them to be there at a time that is 15-20 minutes before the start of your rehearsal to ensure they’ll be on time.
It’s one of my many jobs as a wedding planner to help you stay on time. This is such a happy time and it deserves to be enjoyed and celebrated. Don’t let the timing get you stressed or effect your day. I don’t schedule wedding rehearsals until 30 days out, however if it’s something I can assist you with, please feel free to reach out!
