Lizzie and Michael had a beautiful winter wedding, that included breathtaking ceremony views, and so much love and joy. And while there was some rain, this sweet couple didn’t let it get in the way of their wedding! They grabbed an umbrella and walked around outside for their photos. When helping my couples plan their wedding, I always remind them that no matter the weather, their day will be perfect.

When Lizzie moved to Dallas in 2016, she moved in with her cousin. Soon after, Lizzie and her cousin went out with some friends, where she was introduced to Michael. They spent the night getting to know each other, laughing together, and eating cheese fries at the Twisted Root. A few weeks later, they saw each other again, and Michael remembered her love of cheese fries. After seeing each other again a few more times, he asked her out on a date, and the rest is history!

As Lizzie says, “What I love most about Michael is the way he cares; he has such a big heart and I get to see it in action every day just in the way he loves (or puts up with) me. His sense of humor, smarts, and good looks are just bonuses to this.”

And Michael says of Lizzie, “I love that Lizzie is such a kind and patient person who sees the best in people she meets. I know better than anyone how frustrating I can be at times, but Lizzie never fails to be a kind, compassionate, understanding, supporting, and loving partner through all my good and bad. Every time I am with her or look at her I am reminded how blessed I am to have met her and fall in love with her.”

Dove Ridge Vineyard Wedding

Their wedding took place at Dove Ridge Vineyards, in Weatherford Texas. Dove Ridge Vineyards has incredible views of the country side, and is only a short drive from Fort Worth. For their ceremony, they chose the covered outdoor chapel, that had sweeping views of the winery. This space is already decorated with café lighting and chandeliers, so we added a few signs, and lots of candles, to make it an intimate experience. To keep guests warm on this chilly winter day, the couple provided blankets, which was such a sweet touch!

Their color palette was a dusty mauve, with touches of navy, soft ivories and lots of greenery. The groom’s suit was a sharp blue, which matches the theme color of one of their favorite shoes, Doctor Who! The bridesmaids wore mix and match chiffon gowns, with each bridesmaid choosing their own style. This is a great way to let your girls wear something they are comfortable in, all while being in the same color!

Each girl also had a greenery and flower crown, to match the brides. The flowers by Pick A Daisy were beautiful. The bride had a bouquet of eucalyptus, astilbe, ranunculus, and garden roses. It was mostly ivory, with a few hints of blush in the roses.

It was such a beautiful day, with such an amazing couple. Thank you, Lizzie and Michael, for letting me be a part of your special day!
