Brooke and Shane were one of our first weddings of 2019! Their wedding took place at The Brooks at Weatherford, a gorgeous venue with 21 acres of farm estate. Not only is there plenty of land for amazing pictures, but there is a chapel for the ceremony and a large event venue on site. Having a church on site was important to Brooke, which is what lead her to choose this venue. In fact, she even found the venue before she got engaged! So as soon as Shane proposed, she knew where to start.
Brooke largely planned her wedding day with her mom, and it was clear how much joy this mother-daughter duo found throughout their planning process. Brooke wore a fitted lace gown with cap sleeves and a sheer illusion back. Later in the evening, she added a fur shawl to keep warm. Brooke’s grandmother played a huge role in her life growing up but passed away before the big day. To remember her grandmother, she had part of her grandmother’s wedding dress sewn into hers. She also included one of her grandmother’s brooches on her bouquet.
Winter Color Palette
The couple chose a color palette of burgundy with accents of black and gold, which was perfect for their winter wedding. When coming up with the color palette, Brooke wanted a wintery theme, without being overly Christmas. So she chose the burgundy instead of red, for a deeper, and moodier feed. The bridesmaids wore mix and match burgundy gowns, while the men wore black suits. The flowers by TR Floral focused on greenery, eucalyptus, and touches of burgundy and ivory.
Brooke and Shane were married inside of the Country Chapel, which features floor to ceiling windows and antique church pews. They chose to do a first touch over a first look because Shane thought it wasn’t important to see her for the first time walking down the aisle. They held hands, outside their respective getting ready rooms for the day, before the ceremony.
The reception took place in the large event venue on site, steps away from the chapel. The space features a huge fireplace, rustic beams, and lots of natural light. It is a space that doesn’t need a lot of decor to make it beautiful! Brooke and Shane both love the outdoors and hiking, so Brooks at Weatherford was perfect! They especially loved all of the fireplaces and firepit for s’mores. The couple kept the tables simple, with gold chargers, black iron lights, and lots of eucalyptus and candles.
Brooke’s wedding planning tips for future couples?
“..the biggest tip I can give, and relax. It all comes together. Have a timeline and a list of things you need done. And HAVE FUN and enjoy it. Also remember it’s YOUR day. The two of you, not your moms, your aunts, or your friends. It’s YOURS!”
